THE TOURBILLION BRACELET

The multicolored enamel bangle is an exciting new fashion piece that turns and rotates upon itself. The uber creative jewelry designer Delfina Delettrez has certainly come up with something that screams summer with this rainbow colored accessory!

Being born as fourth generation Fendi, she is the heir to the Italian fashion house, so it’s obvious she knows what she's doing since that Fendi blood runs in her...

Funk-ed up Colored Leather

Been thinking of doing this post for forever now...I just could not let it rest. I'm loving colored leather. Leather is a tricky material and can look tacky , then when you add color to it all kinds of wrongs can happen. So decided to get a few pics of how HOT it looks when done well..

This orange fitting dress is too sexy doesn't  need anything else to complete it

Coat trends you want to be spotted wearing

With winter slowly but surely creeping up on us, you want to be cought in something warm and fashionable! My number one fave trend im looking forward to is the Cacoon coat. Its shaped well...like a cocoon the shape alone leaves you feeling warm and fuzzy inside. Heres a few pics below for those that arent sure what im talking about.

Another awesome trend that seems to crawl back during winter is the Military jacket. I love the detail the buttons create when youre unable to accessorize during those cold days.

For something cute that you can wear all year around you can head to Woolies and get yourself this hot Country Road number.

Miss Toitty by Nothile Khumalo- Part Two

Hey everybody, I see the last post has had a crazy number of views meaning the message is   getting across! Well for those that have been waiting on part 2 of Miss Toitty here goes :)

What keeps you grounded as a designer?.
What keeps me grounded is knowing that this is a journey and that it's gonna take time for me to reach my ultimate goal to build my emporium.

What is your biggest NO NO in Fashion?
Fashion no, no for me is ladies that wear heels they can't walk in! This is a BIG No! You can't help but feel sorry for the person it looks like such a struggle.

What is your favourite piece in your wardrobe?
Favorite items in my wardrobe is my collection of vintage blazers love, love, love those. I find an excuse to wear them whenever I can.

What are your future plans for MissToitty as a brand and a clothing line?
Future plans: I want to eventually open stores in Joburg, Cape Town and Durban. Stock my line in the big and famous American store Target which I fell madly in love with whilst living the U.S. Source accessories from under privileged crafters in rural communities, some great talent out there, that will give them the platform to put their work out into a bigger market. Expand into home decor "Miss Toitty Home" These are plans I have for my brand.

Where can one purchase Miss Toitty garments? and what is coming up for the next season?
Miss Toitty garments can be found at MJ Collection Glamour Goddess:Shop 1 Pearls of   Fourways 1321 Forest Drive, Lonehill ext 91 Fourways or at various pop ups that take place around the city and at the markets every now and then. Ladies can e-mail me at misstoittyboutique@gmail.com for further inquiries or like my FB page Miss Toitty Boutique to know where to catch me next. Upcoming season obviously going into winter you can expect Miss Toitty that will keep you stylishly warm in a not so dull kinda way.

Do you have any advice for other up and coming designers to keep storng in this tough   industry?
Advise that I can give to other young designers is to stay focused on their dream and passion. Persevere, persevere and persevere.

What has been your  most difficult obstacle that nearly broke you as designer and your visions,    but instead made you stronger?
Difficult obstacle: When I thought it was not gonna be possible to produce my first official line last year due to financial constraint but thank God for my family for supporting me and self belief I did it! You know what they say where there is a will, there's a way.

You can contact Miss Toitty via email on nothilek@gmail.com, follow her on twitter @misstoitty and check out her blog MissToitty

Miss Toitty by Nothile Khumalo- Part One

Last week and the week before that we have been muttering on about doing posts on up and coming designers. Its actually been a project i've been dying to work on because theres a truck loads of designers we dont know about and we should be knowing of!
So our first post is on Miss Toitty. We met Miss Toitty for the first time at Palulu Love and what drew us to her was her energy and warm smile.

Nothile has also been featured on the October issue of Elle magazine check her hotness out on page94 on a feature called "You wear it well". She was kind enough to loan us her time and answer a few QnA's  this is what she had to share...

Who is Nothile Khumalo and where is she from?
Nothile Khumalo is a 20 something lady, small town girl with big dreams. A hospitality management graduate   believe it or not. A qualified fashion stylist and garment constructer. I am an all-round fashion enthusiast, a lover of life and all things beautiful. I am the first born child in my family with 1 sister and 2 brothers. I hail from KZN in a town called Mtubatuba 2hrs away from Durban.

Where does Miss Toitty originate from and what inspired the creation of your line? Since then how long has Miss Toity been around?
Back in college some of my classmates use to call me "Noty Toitty" and I really liked it so I just substituted Noty with Miss and asked my close friends and family what they think of Miss Toitty and it turned out to be a winner.
My dream of one day having my own boutique and creating an in-house label was my main inspiration and I also felt that the market lacked simple, stylish pieces with a difference, and were of good quality, reasonably priced and locally manufactured.
My summer collection was my first collection to put out into the market, but I'm sure that my inspiration will change as seasons and trends change. I also want to refine my craft and evolve as time goes on but without losing sight of my core inspiration and the foundation of what Miss Toitty designs are.
Miss Toitty was founded late 2011 but only started operating in 2012.

What type of consumer do you dress? And would you dress our fellow male counter parts?
My brand is aimed at women between 18-30 yrs old. I think these the most stylish years for any woman. You're young, you're free and you're not afraid to experiment, you're want to be different in the way you express yourself through your clothing but most importantly you want great quality at affordable prices. This is the type of consumer I dress. I love men that dress well  but I would not dress our fellow male counter parts.

What is Miss Toity’s signature and how does it speak to your targeted market?.
Miss Toitty signature: I design everyday apparel simple, stylish with a difference and it communicates to my target market in a sense that it is unique pieces that are stylish and will not break your bank balance. My slogan is "define your style" I help women take their personal style to that next level without changing who they are.

What does the word Fashion mean to you?
Fashion to me means being free and confident enough to express who you are through your clothes. Defining your own style, not being afraid of being judged on what you are wearing and how you are wearing it.

What do you think of the fashion culture in South Africa and how does it influence your designs?
I love how the South Africans sense of fashion has evolved over the years. I think everyone is on some " I love fashion" tip which is a great thing because it just simply means that people are more open to experiencing with different styles and are no longer confined to what society and our parent say we should wear and how we should wear it. This influences my designs because it pushes me to be more observant as to what people are wearing on the street and to be more creative as trends change often and people are constantly ready for some new and innovative.

Africas ideas on the worlds catwalks

I'm sure we've all seen the check blue an red travel bag mostly used by street vendors to transport their goods from one point to another. They weren't really deemed fashionable but over time trend setters picked up the catchy travel bag an started creating handbags or carry bags. Onother trend spotted on the worlds high fashion ramps is the Basotho traditional blanket known as Seanamarena. This one is a tricky one because its origins can be traced back to the European traders and missionaries as far back as the 1800s. Who ever thought? I think well let that one slide... a little. Point is we need to seriously start celebrating styles we created right here at home before looking else where. One does wonder if credit is given by the famous designer's as to where "their ideas" originate from during those campaign launches? All I can say is, its about darn time Africa continued setting trends in the world of fashion right here and the world over!
